This course invites you to explore what an ethical leader is. What does it take to be a leader who not only works towards positive change, but also acts with clarity and integrity on the way?

About this course

This is a free, self-paced online course.

The world is complex and complicated; inequality is rife, social change feels slow and more prevalent than ever and individuals and organisations are being called upon to make the ‘right’ decisions to move society forward and create structures that are inclusive and effective.

In this taster course, you’ll explore how you can lead effectively to create positive change. Through self-reflection and considering examples in pop culture, you’ll explore seven characteristics that ethical leaders demonstrate and see how you can develop those characteristics for your own leadership.  You will develop a better understanding of yourself and your drivers and the kinds of behaviours you can demonstrate to be an effective leader.

The content of this taster course has been collaboratively developed across a wide working group of change-makers, equity practitioners, social impact specialists, civic research and leadership experts, to distil the key ideas. You will regularly have the opportunity to share with and view the work of other participants to build your knowledge.

Course structure

There are eight modules of content, including:

  • Introduction to ethical leadership
  • The 'power of one'
  • Respect
