Everyday people are working to strengthen communities through running programs that seek to better the lives of people across the globe. But how do we know we’re achieving what we set out to? How do we know we’re making a difference? This taster course will equip you with the tools to showcase your impact to funders and, more importantly, to evaluate whether your program is achieving what it set out to do.

About this course

This is a free, self-paced online course.

In the UTS Open taster course, Measuring Social Impact: Part 1, you mapped out the change you want to see through your program. Now we’re going to measure whether you’re achieving that change!

Evaluation is the process we undertake to ensure we are actually having an impact - think of it as a 'health check' for your social impact program. This course has been designed to simplify the language of evaluation, introduce you to common frameworks and tools used in measurement and make sure you do a quality job. Evaluation is something anyone can do - all you need is the right toolkit.

Course structure

  • Building an evaluation framework
  • The key methods and tools
  • My evaluation plan.

Why you should do this course?

  • This course is for anyone who wants a hands-on guide to evaluating a social program.
  • Learn social impact evaluation methods from experts in the field, and use templates to develop your own evaluation framework and plan
  • Gain some of the critical knowledge required for the Master of Not-for-Profit and Social Enterprise Management, offered by the UTS Business School.

Who is this course for?

This course is for those who want to ensure their not-for-profit programs are having a real impact in local communities or on broader society.
